What Happened to Omegle
For most of its life Omegle asked nothing about who you were. Its founder, Leif K‑Brooks, ended it with a farewell letter. Running the site, he wrote, was "no longer sustainable, financially nor psychologically", and he admitted some people had misused it.
The name outlived the service. The letter stayed up until a new app took over the address, and nothing on that app's pages mentions the founder, the closure or a purchase. It is a new service under an old name, not the Omegle that shut down.
